Historian, Researcher, and Professional Genealogist

Mission: At The Kitchen Genealogist, family history is global connections.  I am dedicated to preserving and sharing history through meticulous research, storytelling, and genealogy. My mission as a genealogist is to research, preserve, and share family histories with accuracy and integrity. Through detailed investigation and storytelling, I strive to connect people to their ancestors, uncover hidden histories, and keep the past alive for future generations.

I am a multifaceted professional with a passion for history and an unwavering commitment to preserving and sharing stories from the past. I have a diverse background as an author, researcher, professional genealogist, and Underground Railroad historian. I am a relentless investigator, unearthing forgotten archives, uncovering hidden truths, and shedding light on the lives of those overlooked by history. I keep all the family archives, genealogy, and stories. Family and telling stories, specifically oral history, are essential to learning your history with a deep commitment to excellence. My passion for storytelling transcends time."

Dr. Carter's exploratory approach to researching family history and learning the family's important stories starts from the known to the unknown. Highly accomplished educator and communicator with over 20 years of collaborative conservation of historical knowledge and records research, marketing, and branding experience, with a focus on preservation, transcribing and abstracting original material, cataloging, analyzing problems and evidence, and legal retention, gathering information, oral accounts, and other research, such as births or marriage. Experienced in documenting primary and secondary sources and accurately citing the sources. Compile a proof argument, summarize a case study, and complete written reports. Excellent technical and writing skills, with a keen ability to understand multifaceted information and translate it into usable presentations and workshops. Strong communications skills with a proven track record of executing strategic plans, extensive graphic design experience, marketing, branding, research projects, oral history, genealogical standards and practices, and lived experiences through storytelling. Experienced in teaching, writing articles based on your findings, and giving lectures.
